Core Values & Beliefs
  • Tahanto,

The 2018-2019 school year is underway and Tahanto has started the year off with a focus on wellness. Students and parents in grades 6-12 were invited to attend a presentation from Dr. Ruth Potee on the Adolescent Brain & Addiction. This event was sponsored by the Tahanto STAAGS PTO and was attended by over 200 students, teachers, staff and parents.

On October 6th students in grades 9-12 participated in Tahanto's 1st Annual Refresh Day. This day was dedicated to educating students on the multiple ways in which they can help alleviate stress and anxiety in their lives. Students choose from a variety of offerings that included; aromatherapy, drumming, healthy eating, yoga, adult coloring, journaling, pet therapy and a variety of other offerings. This day was made possible by a grant from the SHINE Initiative thats mission is to shine a light on mental illness. Tahanto is in the beginning phases of offering a Refresh Day in the spring, for students in grades 6-8.

Outside of the classroom Tahanto has also begun the year on a positive note. Fall athletic teams are experiencing success on the fields. West Boylston/Tahanto football, girls soccer, cross country and field hockey are all having winning seasons. The arts department & the student council are hosting a Fall Festival to showcase student talents in the area of fine and performing arts in late October.

Throughout this year we will continue to strive for academic, social and emotional balance in our students lives.
