• IMPORTANT CHANGES!!!

    Hello families,

    As we implement our new distance learning plan, I am finding this site to be less than ideal in terms of how to best reach families, encourage participation, and stay connected to students. I have created a new PE website, designed to be simple and user-friendly. It has buttons for resources, the activity log, weekly assignments, and my contact information. I will continue to post assignments and update/add to resources every week. The assignments are designed so that if you have students in multiple grades they can do PE together at whatever time works for your family. Please reach out to me with questions and also share with me pictures or emails from the kids about what they are doing to stay active, what they are learning from my weekly assignments, etc.

  • New Things Coming

    Hi there BES!!! I am missing you terribly and hope you know you are all on my mind and in my heart. I also hope you are staying healthy and active.

    There are lots of new things coming your way. I have been hard at work finding fun workout ideas, reaching out to community members, and brainstorming ways to help you get involved. Please check out the links posted on this site for new things, have a parent follow me on Twitter, check the PTO Facebook page, etc...I'm trying to make sure you can find me!

    Also, make sure you are filling out your activity logs to turn in when we return to BES.

  • I miss you!

    Dear BES students and families,

    I can't believe how much I miss you! Has it really only been a week? I hope you are all staying healthy and at home as much as possible. 

    I have made a section of my PE website all about fitness at home. Staying active is a VERY important part of staying healthy, but I know that's a challenge when you're practicing social distancing. Remember, social distancing doesn't mean you can't leave your house - getting fresh air is also an essential part of both physical and mental health! Please spend some time looking through what I've added so far. I will continue to add resources, tweet challenges, etc. for the duration of this school closure.

    Also, please notice, there is an assignment posted! While we are home, please complete the activity log I have created. All students who do this and return it to me when we get back to school will receive a small reward. Plus, for every 60 minutes (1 hour) of physical activity logged, your name will be entered into a drawing for a prize!

    Finally, here are some dos and don'ts for being physically active while practicing social distancing:

    • DO exercise every day
    • DO find ways to include movement in other activities
    • DO go outside
    • DO play in your yard
    • DO go for a walk or bike ride (don't forget your helmet!)
    • DON'T have play dates 
    • DON'T go to playgrounds or parks
    • DON'T get too close to others on trails

    Please know I am thinking of you and missing you. I can't wait to see you all when this is over! In the meantime, feel free to contact me through my discussion board on my teaching page, my email, or on twitter (all with your parent/guardian's approval of course).
